6 Steps to Simplify your Life a little

6 STEPS TO SIMPLIFY YOUR LIFE A LITTLE

Whether you’ve been simplifying for years or you are just getting started, there is something here for everyone.

By investing the time and energy to simplify, you can improve the quality of your overall life.

However…

I don’t want you to add stress by turning everything upside down overnight. It takes time to be completely decluttered.

So take one step at a time. And here are those steps.

1. Write down your WHY

Figure out why you want to simplify.

My why was to be organized and stress free and to live minimalistic lifestyle. Because I believe 👇

Your why might be different. Perhaps you want to be organized too, or to have a few minutes to yourself every day. Whatever it is write it down.

“Once you understand and connect with your why, the how, what and where will be easier to find.”

2. Start decluttering

Start letting go of the stuff in your home that you don’t use, love or even notice most of the time.

Pro tip: As you are sorting, focus on what you want to keep, not what you want to throw out.

If you ‘d like to know, HERE’S WHY YOU SHOULD DECLUTTER.

Start with the easy stuff and as you begin to enjoy the space you are creating and the process of decluttering, move on to the more challenging items.

Photos are the most difficult because of the sheer volume and emotional value. Be sure to keep the ones you remember taking and relive the excitement of that moment.

By cutting away the unnecessary we get more physical and mental breathing room.

3. Simplify your social media

Have you ever experienced this  👇,

You started studying, but stop randomly to check your phone for no reason, or your mind wanders to your instagram feed or email inbox while you’re on the phone with someone.

Like most people, I am also dealing with this problem all the time and the best way I’ve found so far to overcome it is to block out significant time to focus on one thing and avoid everything else.

Spend less time online overall but when you are engaging in your social feeds, curate them to support the changes you are making in your life.

Pro tip: Follow and unfollow accordingly.

4. Have some daily inspiration

When I’m making a change in my life, I read books or listen to podcasts with encouraging, helpful information to stay motivated and engaged.

I recommend:

Gary Vaynerchuk

Ari Meisel

Lewis Howes

Pro tip: Follow them on social media (Learning while socializing)

5. Decide how you want to spend your time

What matters most in your life right now? Make a quick list.

Now write down what you spent most of your time doing over the last couple of days.

Think about your ‘what matters list’ and your ‘what you did over the last couple of days’.

Does how you spend your time support what matters to you?

Don’t judge, just notice.

This exercise makes it easier to say no, and to more mindfully decide how you want to spend your time.

6. Simplify your insides too

When you get the inside right, the outside falls into place

Don’t forget about the stuff that has built up inside your brain and your heart.

It affects your mental health, your physical health, and your relationships.

So it does matter.

Pro tip: Try Meditating and exercising even if it’s just for few minutes. Add some veggies and fruits in your diet.
