Confidence aka Self-esteem has never been a more important and debated concept than today.

Self-esteem is vital for strong psychological development.

Our view of ourselves strongly determines how we respond to challenges

Here are 4 simple steps to achieve higher level of self-esteem:

1. Live consciously

If we want to improve our self-esteem, we must first start living consciously.

Meaning,

Simply willing to ask yourself every now and then the following questions,

“How am I feeling at this moment?”

“Why am I feeling this way?”

“Do my actions match my feelings?”

2. Accept yourself

If you don’t accept yourself as you are now, you’ll never find the drive to improve.

Because,

You’ll be spending all your energy agonizing over your shortcomings.

3. Be Self responsible and take control of your happiness

Take responsibility for your behavior, don’t try to blame others.

Whenever a problem arises ask yourself – “What can I do about it?”

its not someonelse job to make you happy thats your job

Acknowledging this fact will help us empower ourselves.

4. Stand up for yourself (Be self assertive)

Simply put, Be who you are.

For instance,

Let’s say that you’ve just seen a movie with your friends and you felt deeply moved by it.

Say so.

Don’t shrug indifferently for fear of being considered uncool.

Each time you stand up for yourself strengthens your self esteem
